Barry Windsor-Smith

Barry Windsor-Smith (aka Barry Smith) is a American-based British comic book illustrator and painter whose best known work has been produced in the United States. He is known for his work on Marvel Comics' Conan the Barbarian from 1970 to 1973, and for his work on Wolverine – particularly the original Weapon X story arc.

One enduring rumor was that he was initially meant to be the actual animal, evolved with the assistance from the High Evolutionary but this was dispelled by Len Wein, the writer who is credited for creating the character
