The issue is typically regarded as the first appearance of the "Silver Age" Aquaman though nothing in the text indicates it. Indexers simply point to Aquaman's slightly modiefied costume, wearing green gloves. Previous issues had him in yellow gloves. The yellow gloves would later be used in Earth-2 appearances og Aquaman.
