Synopsis

IN THE DARK PLACES Young Prince Ali, son of Sheik Al Qatar, has been kidnapped by a group led by a man called Cipher. Batman and recently promoted Lt. Bullock are already chasing the low-flying helicopter through the streets of Gotham City. Batman sets his Batmobile on autopilot and uses one of his grapples to hop aboard the helicopter. Prince Ali uses the distraction and pulls a ceremonial dagger to not only stab one of the kidnappers in the leg, but also to free himself from his shackles. But then Ali falls out of the shaking helicopter and into a water channel. Batman is right behind the young Prince who has fear of Batman and, thus, swims through the storm drain system to escape. With the kidnappers chasing them (they have put a transponder module on the Prince), Batman first has to convince Ali that there is nothing to fear from bats. With Ali finally trusting him, Batman carries the Prince out of the water and then uses the dagger to bring down the helicopter. Batman hands the Prince over to Lt. Bullock who points out that the transponder module was manufactured by Wayne Industries. The man called Cipher escaped and vows revenge ...
