Synopsis

On his quest for vengeance against Harold Meachum, Iron Fist travels to New York. He fights a group of street thugs, before reflecting on his training in K'un-Lun, where, as a revenge driven youngster, was trained by Lei-Kung the thunderer. After defeating more thugs, Danny reflects on how he became Iron Fist. Yu-Ti allowed Danny to face off against a dragon, Shou-Laou the Undying. Danny managed to defeat the dragon, but during the battle his trade-mark dragon shaped tattoo was branded onto his chest. After the battle, Danny plunged his hands into a brazier containing Shou-Laou undying heart. This action granted him the power of the Iron Fist.Returning to the present, the villain Scythe appears, out to claim a bounty that has been placed on Iron Fist's head. As the two fight, Danny recalls events from the previous issue - how after defeating Shu-Hu, he was offered the choice of immortality from the Tree of Immortality. However, Iron Fist rejects this offer, instead opting to leave K'un-Lun to gain revenge of Harold Meachum.Returning once again to the present, Iron Fist quickly dispatches Scythe with his Iron Fist attack. Iron Fist demands to know who placed the bounty on his head, Scythe reveals it was the owner of the Meachum Building.
