Synopsis

Increasingly prolific contributors Siegel and Shuster used this issue to launch their latest feature, "Calling All Cars." The two page tale introduces police office Sandy Kean, who drove a police car equipped with a radio - a noteworthy occurrence. The feature was later re-named Radio Squad and it is likely that Siegel was influenced by the newspaper strip "Radio Patrol," which dated from 1933. Also in this issue was and exhortation for young readers to "join the growing army of youngsters who are enrolling in the worldwide fun club." Members were mailed a Fun Club button and given a secret password and countersign to identify fellow members.
