In New York's East Village, Logan is on the run from McLeish, a hit-man he thought he had killed ten years before, after McLeish killed the father of Logan's then-girlfriend, Ai-Chia Wong. He and McLeish had begun a friendship, but Logan lost his taste for the attitudes of the bloodthirsty killer.An automobile crashes into Logan, pinning him between it and another car. The driver steps out and raises a pistol at Logan, saying that McLeish sends his regards. Despite his crushed legs and being repeatedly shot, Logan throttles the gunman into unconsiousness, then drags himself from the wreckage.Once he recovers sufficiently from his injuries, Logan makes his way to the garage where he keeps his motorcycle.
