Recent eBay sales and listings show 10 Newsstand copies to every 1 Direct which would make the Direct more scarce than the Newsstand

McFarlane,19 years old at the time of this issue's release had letters printed approximately 15 times throughout 1981-1983 including Ghosts #104 which went on sale the same week as Weird War Tales #103 but the contents of the letter were only partially printed
