In 2000, the Charles Atlas corporation filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against DC Comics for the portrayal of Flex Mentallo being a parody of the real-life Italian bodybuilder
The lawsuit was eventually dismissed but series was out-of-print for over a decade and commanded a considerable amount on the secondary market
Flex Mentallo: Man of Muscle Mystery has since been published in a hardcover deluxe edition collection and a trade paperback
